Emergency mode was re-introduced in Yamal due to burning forests

The emergency situation regime was re-introduced in the forests of Yamal due to a sharp increase in the number of wildfires. This decision was made by the head of the district Dmitry Artyukhov, the press service of the regional government reports.

As of Thursday, July 30, 79 fires are active in the district, the total area of spontaneous fires has exceeded 12 thousand hectares.

Emergency mode for the rapid involvement of additional forces to fight fires. It is also forbidden to walk in the woods, make bonfires, burn dry grass and garbage.

This is the second introduction of an emergency regime in the Yamal forest lands during the current season. It was first introduced into the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District on June 23, when the Verkhne-Tazovsky Reserve began to burn. After the situation stabilized, the regime was canceled.
