Lvova-Belova spoke about returning to the parents of children from Ukraine

As part of Russia's efforts to reunite children from Ukraine and their parents, one child returned to his mother in Russia, and four more children are to reunite with their loved ones in Ukraine and Germany. This was announced on July 30 by Maria Lvova-Belova, the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights.

"A five-year-old boy recently returned to Russia. In 2020, the child stayed with his dad in Ukraine, for various reasons, his mother could not take him away. In March 2026, she learned about the death of the child's father, and they assisted in the reunification," she said on her channel in Maks.

Another nine-year-old girl's mother came to Moscow from Germany. The child has been visiting his grandmother since 2023. A six-year-old boy will also go to Ukraine to visit his mother after staying with his grandmother in the Russian Federation.

Two 15-year-olds are also expected to meet with their relatives soon. One of the boys lived in Russia with his family after his mother left for Ukraine in 2022 and could not take her son to her place. Another boy lost his parents and lived with relatives in Russia, and now his older sister in Germany wanted to take over his upbringing.

"Soon all the children will come to their loved ones! Humanitarian family reunification activities are carried out on behalf of the head of state, Vladimir Putin, based on appeals from parents or close relatives who have the necessary legal grounds," Lvova-Belova wrote.

Lvova-Belova also announced on June 20 that Russia was responding to all requests from Ukraine to reunite children with their families. According to her, requests are mostly received when parents are on different sides of the border. Lvova-Belova noted that such disputes are more likely to be family disputes, which can only be indirectly influenced, so parents are invited to come to an agreement among themselves, and also ask the children's opinion.

Prior to that, on June 18, the Ombudsman indicated that four children were ready to be reunited with their families in Ukraine, but regular raids by Ukrainian drones prevented the transfer.
