Nutritionist Roman Pristansky, in an interview with Radio 1 on Thursday, July 30, dispelled the main myths about nuts. According to him, the folk wisdom about the benefits of nuts for the mind is absolutely true.

Thus, the lipids contained in nuts serve as the main building material for hormone production. Walnuts are especially rich in polyphenols and enzymes that help expand the capillary network of the brain and improve the delivery of nutrients to it.

The expert also called the myth that nuts increase the level of "harmful" cholesterol. He explained that this indicator is more often associated with low-protein diets, and protein plays a key role in binding cholesterol and its subsequent processing.

Pristansky added that some treatment regimens, on the contrary, involve increasing the consumption of protein foods and nuts to lower cholesterol levels.

At the same time, the nutritionist recommended using nuts with caution for people with allergies, as well as gradually introducing them into the diet of children. According to him, it is most useful to eat nuts in raw or dried form without any additives.

Nutritionist and gastroenterologist Nuria Dianova said on July 22 that fermented drinks made from nuts can support heart health, help control sugar and improve mineral absorption. She explained that the nut base does not contain lactose and cholesterol, but is rich in healthy fats, notes 360.ru .

In June, expert Sergey Lednev recommended thoroughly rinsing nuts and dried fruits before use to remove possible contaminants and preservative residues, including sulfur dioxide.

Earlier, nutritionist Mariyat Mukhina, in an interview with NSN, said that nuts are recommended for people with intellectual work, help to avoid depression and even increase libido. At the same time, the specialist emphasized that the safe dose of nuts is up to 30-60 g per day.
