The lawyer gave advice on money transfers after Durov was recognized as a terrorist

The future activities of the Telegram messenger depend on the decisions of its founder Pavel Durov (listed as a terrorist and extremist by Rosfinmonitoring). This opinion was expressed by lawyer Alexander Dobrovinsky in an interview with Izvestia on July 30.

"It is not forbidden to read news channels and write comments, but regarding money transfers [in messenger], first think about what you are doing and why. And then think three more times," Dobrovinsky said.

According to him, ordinary messenger users are not prohibited from reading news channels and leaving comments. However, he recommended that special care be taken when using money transfers inside the platform.

Rosfinmonitoring added Durov to the list of terrorists and extremists earlier in the day. The day before, he was charged with facilitating terrorist activities.

On July 29, the FSB's Public Relations Center announced that the Telegram administration, according to the agency, does not delete channels, chats and bots that are allegedly used by Ukrainian special services, as well as terrorist and extremist organizations to prepare sabotage and terrorist acts. The reason for the criminal case was the investigation of the activities of the chatbot "Diver/Leo — dating, communication and new friends" in Telegram, which was previously included in the unified register of prohibited information of Roskomnadzor.
