Russian representatives did not recognize the unilateral expansion of the continental shelf borders by the United States. This is stated in a statement by the Russian delegation participating in the 31st session of the Assembly of the International Seabed Authority (IOM).

"We consider possible unilateral actions by the United States to develop the seabed within the specified limits to be unacceptable," the document says, which was reviewed by RIA Novosti on July 30.
