Muscovites have won awards at the international exhibition of inventors

Pupils of the Moscow Palace of Pioneers won gold, two silver medals and a special prize at the International Exhibition of Young Inventors in Beijing. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, in his channel in the Maks messenger.

Russia was represented by 12 people, three of them residents of the capital, Sobyanin said. "Muscovites, led by Alexei Gromakov, a teacher at the robotics laboratory of the Moscow Palace of Pioneers, presented their projects in the field of ecology, physics and underwater robotics," the mayor wrote.

Sobyanin congratulated the students on their awards and wished them new inventions. He also expressed hope for the launch of developments in production.

So, Sofia Kuznetsova from the 11th grade of school No. 1557 has developed a special feeder for cubs, said the mayor. According to him, the device helps to take care of animals without close contact with humans in the wild.

Varvara Gromakova from the 11th grade of school No. 1557 has created a model of a synchrotron, an installation that is used to produce powerful X—rays, the mayor said. Unlike a real synchrotron, where electrons are accelerated, charged mercury atoms are moving in the model. Thanks to the device, students will be able to visually study the operation of particle accelerators.

Alexey Ogarkov from the eighth grade of school No. 1547 has developed an underwater navigation system for autonomous vehicles. It works without GPS and other external signals, and calculates the distance based on the delay time of the sonar signal.

Pupils of the Center for Scientific and Technical Education of the Moscow Palace of Pioneers have been participating in the international exhibition and competition for young inventors since 2017. The robotics laboratory of the palace employs over 1,000 students in more than 20 programs.
