The CEC has registered 11 parties in the State Duma elections
The Central Election Commission (CEC) of the Russian Federation has registered the federal list of candidates of the Green Party for the elections of deputies of the State Duma of the IX convocation, so 11 parties will participate in the Duma campaign. This was announced by the CEC press service on July 30.
"Register the federal list of candidates for deputies of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the ninth convocation, nominated by the Greens political party, in the number of 256 people," the resolution says, as cited by TASS.
In addition to the Greens, the lists of United Russia, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the Liberal Democratic Party, New People, Just Russia, Yabloko, the Party of Pensioners, the Communists of Russia, Rodina and the Party of Direct Democracy have been registered. All 11 parties are exempt from collecting signatures of voters, as they had the corresponding privilege.
On July 22, the chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of the Russian Federation, Ella Pamfilova, announced that more than 3.1 thousand candidates from political parties had already been included in the federal lists certified by the commission for the election of deputies of the State Duma, with 1,667 people in single—mandate districts. She noted that the CEC staff had done a lot of work to ensure that remote electronic voting took place on a Single voting Day without difficulties.
