The Second Western District Military Court found Varazh Manukyan guilty (listed on the register of extremists and terrorists in the Russian Federation) of complicity in the commission of a terrorist act in Moscow, in which the head of the Arbat battalion, Armen Sargsyan, was killed, and sentenced him to 22 years in prison. This was reported on July 30 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.

Earlier, the prosecutor's office had asked the court to sentence Manukyan to 24 years in prison. The defendant asked the court to acquit him and let him go home.
