In Vladivostok, a liar stole 1 million rubles from a pensioner

In Vladivostok, police detained a 51-year-old resident of Khabarovsk, who is suspected of stealing more than 1 million rubles from an 85-year-old pensioner under the guise of conducting a "healing ceremony." This was announced on July 30 by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for Primorye.

"A pensioner met a woman. The stranger stated that she could cure her of all diseases, but for a special ceremony it is necessary to bring all available money and a photo. The meeting was agreed to be held near the applicant's house," the Telegram channel said.

According to the agency, the woman hid the money in a sock and brought it to the playground, where the attacker replaced it with a sock with counterfeit bills. The suspect, who was previously convicted of property crimes, was detained by the police.

It is clarified that a criminal case has been opened under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud"). The person involved was detained in accordance with Article 91 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation ("Grounds for the detention of a suspect"). The police are also checking her for involvement in other similar crimes.
