Seven people were killed when an emergency helicopter crashed in Argentina.
In the Argentine province of San Juan, a Bell 412 helicopter crashed during a training flight before participating in extinguishing forest fires, killing seven people. This was reported on July 29 by the Mitre radio station.
"On Wednesday, a Bell 412 helicopter crashed during a training flight before participating in extinguishing forest fires. The accident occurred in the provincial park of Ishigualasto and led to the death of seven people," the publication says.
It is specified that the helicopter was heading to the province of La Rioja to participate in extinguishing a forest fire, but soon after departure, communication with it was lost. Later, the crash site was discovered by the crew of another aircraft.
According to San Juan Governor Marcelo Orrego, the disaster killed the heads of civil protection and fire protection services, as well as the pilot and employees of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
It is noted that the causes of the crash are being established, rescue services and investigators are working on the spot.
On July 23, the press service of the Czech Army reported that the country's army helicopter with five soldiers on board crashed in the east of the country. According to the Reuters news agency, one person was killed.
