On July 29, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia announced that the Nauru authorities had terminated diplomatic relations with the country due to unprecedented external pressure.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia notes with regret the forced nature of the decision of the Republic of Nauru to terminate diplomatic relations with the Republic of Abkhazia, taken in the face of unprecedented and systematic external pressure," the publication says on the website.

The press service stated that Nauru's decision to terminate diplomatic relations was the result of prolonged external political and economic pressure. At the same time, according to the Abkhaz side, the development of relations was hindered by Georgia and its Western partners, exerting pressure on Nauru.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the statements of the former President of Nauru, Baron Waka, during his visit to Abkhazia, became evidence of the pressure exerted. He said that after the recognition of Abkhazia's independence, unprecedented pressure was exerted on Nauru, as well as attempts were made to get the country to abandon the decision through financial influence and other methods.

In a press release issued by the Government of Nicaragua on July 16, it announced its decision to terminate diplomatic relations with Italy. The Government of Nicaragua stated that they regret the current situation, since, in the opinion of the authorities, it contradicts the historically established ties between Nicaragua and Italy.
