Novak instructed to continue monitoring fuel prices
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak instructed to continue monitoring fuel prices and provide the market with petroleum products. This was announced on July 29 in a statement by the Russian government following the meeting.
"Novak instructed relevant departments, regional authorities and industry companies to continue coordinated work to provide the domestic market with the necessary volumes of petroleum products, monitor the price situation and ensure uninterrupted supply to consumers," the statement said.
It is noted that the Russian Deputy Prime Minister held a meeting on the situation on the fuel market with the participation of heads of regions, representatives of the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Federal Antimonopoly Service, the Ministry of Regional Development and industry companies. During the meeting, the balance of supply and demand, the dynamics of production of petroleum products and measures to ensure the availability of fuel were discussed.
Pavel Sorokin, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, said on July 29 that the situation on the Russian fuel market remains difficult, but the relevant department is fully in control of it. According to him, the authorities have a clear idea of which regions have difficulties with providing fuel.
According to a statement by the Russian government on July 29 following a meeting with the Russian Deputy Prime Minister, the Federal Antimonopoly Service noted the observed downward trend in fuel prices at independent automobile filling stations (gas stations). It was noted that the situations in the republics of Tyva, Altai and Sakha (Yakutia), Krasnoyarsk and Altai Territories, Sevastopol and Simferopol were carefully considered.
