The base interest rate in the United States was maintained at 3.5 to 3.75% per annum. This was reported on July 29 on the website of the US Federal Reserve System (FRS) with reference to the relevant decision of the committee.

"The Committee decided to maintain the target range of the federal funds rate at 3.5% to 3.75% in support of the Federal Reserve's dual mandate. The Committee continues its policy of maintaining sufficient reserves in the banking system," the statement said.

It is emphasized that of the 12 people who discussed such a step, only three were "against", they advocated raising the target range of the federal funds rate by a quarter of a percentage point.

The Fed clarified that the country is currently experiencing a steady unemployment rate and growing economic stability, which in turn has been shaken by events in the Middle East.

Ilya Rusyaev, a business consultant and founder of the Rusyaev Club business community, pointed out on July 27 in a conversation with Izvestia that the assessment of inflation risks depends on the Fed's rate decision. According to him, this indicator may also be affected by data on the US gross domestic product for the second quarter and the PCE index used by the regulator in assessing inflation.
