Modern biology classrooms will appear in renovated Moscow schools
Modern biology classrooms with high-tech equipment will appear in the renovated schools in Moscow. This was announced on Wednesday, July 29, by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.
According to him, 100 schools will be opened this year after the reconstruction. More than 1.6 thousand new-generation microscopes with digital cameras, almost 1.3 thousand dissecting loupes, about 1.5 thousand demonstration models of the structure of animals and birds, 2.4 thousand skeletal models, as well as collapsible models of human organs were purchased for them.
In addition, schools will receive about 1.5 thousand dissection kits and digital laboratories with sensors for studying the environment and human physiological parameters. The classrooms will also be equipped with interactive panels that will allow using virtual laboratories of the Moscow Electronic School and conducting digital experiments, the Moscow City News Agency writes.
Sobyanin noted that the new equipment will help students to study biology more deeply and consciously choose their future profession.
The mayor also recalled that this year more than 12,000 ninth—graders took the OGE in biology, more than 10.2 thousand graduates took the Unified State Exam, and Moscow schoolchildren successfully competed at national and international Olympiads, winning dozens of diplomas, as well as gold and silver medals.
