Specialists of the municipal management complex have completed a comprehensive renovation of Novodevichy Embankment in the center of Moscow. This was announced on Wednesday, July 29, by the Deputy Mayor of the capital for Housing and Communal Services and landscaping, Peter Biryukov.

According to him, four embankments are being renovated in the Khamovniki district this year — Prechistenskaya, Frunzenskaya, Novodevichy and Rostovskaya. They are popular with residents and tourists due to the iconic facilities located nearby, including the Luzhniki Olympic Complex and Gorky Park. The main objective of the project is to make the movement of drivers and pedestrians more comfortable.

Biryukov noted that all work has already been completed on Novodevichy Embankment. They replaced more than 30,000 square meters of pavement on the roadway and sidewalks, applied new markings, installed almost 70 energy-efficient lanterns and equipped unregulated pedestrian crossings with contrast lighting. In addition, new benches have appeared on the embankment, and the landscaping area has reached almost 7 thousand square meters, the Moscow City News agency reports.

The deputy mayor added that the total length of the renovated embankments in Khamovniki will exceed 5 km, which will create a single convenient route for motorists and pedestrians.
