Drivers in Moscow urged to be careful due to heavy rain and thunderstorms

Drivers in Moscow were urged to exercise increased caution on the roads due to expected heavy rains, thunderstorms and strong winds. This was announced on Wednesday, July 29, by the press service of the metropolitan Department of Transport.

The ministry noted that bad weather is expected in the coming hours and will continue until morning. Motorists were asked not to be distracted while driving and to be especially attentive.

Motorists were also advised to check the operation of the wipers and the level of the washing liquid in advance, observe the distance and speed limit, especially on bridges, overpasses, descents and ascents, and avoid sudden maneuvers and braking, the Moscow City News agency reports.

Heavy rain, heavy rain in places, thunderstorms and wind gusts up to 15 m/s are expected in the capital until 09:00 on July 30. Pedestrians are advised not to hide under trees, avoid rickety structures and do not leave children unattended.
