Muscovites named their favorite voting topics in Active Citizen

One of the most popular survey topics in Active Citizen is related to programs for the improvement of parks, courtyards, and playgrounds. Muscovites also like to choose the names of animals in the capital's zoo and the Moskvarium at VDNH, as well as the names of streets, metro stations, and other facilities. These are the results of the voting dedicated to the 12th anniversary of the project. This was told by Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina.

"Over the entire time in Active Citizen, citizens have expressed 357 million opinions on various issues — from cultural heritage, transport and medicine to education and seasonal events. About 600 surveys are conducted annually in the project. Dozens of residents' decisions are implemented every month," Sergunina said.

Today, the "Active Citizen" unites more than 7 million people. In total, over 7,7 thousand surveys were conducted. For example, in 2021, Muscovites approved the concept of developing the Yauza Park along Severodvinsk Street and from Shirokaya to Yeniseiskaya Street. New walking paths and playgrounds have been added here, gazebos for recreation and ecotropics have been set up, and a space for events has been created.

In 2025, users of the platform also chose names for the Gagarin Bridge over the Moskva River near the National Space Center and the Tsarskaya Embankment in the Kolomenskoye Museum Reserve. In addition, the townspeople identified the mascot of the Pets in Moscow project, and also chose names for Katyusha the panda, Akela the cub of the red-book brown hyena, the baby bird of the Papuan kalao Bird and the beautiful crane of Irkut and Chuya.
