A resident of the United States cured his spine in Moscow in a day after being refused in other countries

Moscow specialists from the Sklifosovsky Research Institute provided assistance to a US resident who was denied treatment in other countries during the day. This was announced on July 29 by the Metropolitan Department of Health.

It is noted that a man who has lived in the United States for more than 20 years injured his spine during sports a few months ago, which almost caused one of his legs to fail. They couldn't get him back on his feet at home, after which, against the background of increasing pain, he decided to turn to Russian specialists.

"The examination showed an intervertebral hernia, which compressed the nerves. The doctors performed a minimally invasive operation and removed it: they released the compressed nerve through a small incision, preserving the surrounding tissues as much as possible," the department said in the Maks messenger.

The very next day after the operation, the patient was able to walk on his own, and two days later he was discharged home in good condition.

In May, Russian Deputy Minister of Health Evgenia Kotova indicated that the number of foreigners coming to Russia for medical care had increased by 20% over the past three years. She noted the high quality of Russian medical education and the capabilities of leading federal clinics to provide advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies.
