Unknown persons stole important details of the protective dam in Flights

In Transbaikalia, unknown persons stole several important parts of a protective dam located in the village of Ulety. The normal operation of the facility is under threat, the press service of the regional Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment reports.

The attackers stole gearboxes and firecrackers, unscrewed a valve and cut off grilles to delay debris at two water outlets. In total, four water outlets were damaged.

Employees of the GTS department went to the scene, writes ChitaMedia news agency. Specialists with the help of improvised means were able to set up the work of the facility.

As noted in the department, the stolen elements are an important part of the dam, ensuring its safety. Their absence can lead to flooding of houses and roads in Flights.

Earlier it was reported that in 2025, more than 60 km of dams were built in Transbaikalia to protect settlements from floods. Dozens more kilometers of similar structures have been restored.
