Alexey Chepa, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Relations, said that everyone in the West understands perfectly well that anti-Russian sanctions are not working and there are no serious points left for the next package.

In conversation with Lenta.Ru On Wednesday, July 29, Chepa said he did not know what could be included in the 22nd package of sanctions, since, according to him, they had been looking for new restrictions for a long time during the preparation of the 21st package and had eventually included only targeted measures.

"There are no serious positions and there cannot be. And they already understand perfectly well that these sanctions do not work, that this is a hoax. Today they are trying by any means to achieve some kind of cessation of hostilities," the deputy commented.

The parliamentarian added that Ukraine is trying to increase attacks on civilian targets, using this as a tool of blackmail. He also recalled that Russia has consistently stated the conditions for achieving peace, in which pressure on the Russian leadership is unacceptable.

On the same day, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, said that about 30,000 sanctions had been imposed against the Russian Federation. He noted that Russia "feels political pressure from all corners," writes RT.

Bloomberg reported on July 28 that in the United States, senators from both parties reached an agreement on a bill to tighten sanctions against Russia and Iran. The sanctions may apply to the military, businessmen, state-owned enterprises of Russia and foreign companies working with the Russian defense industry. 360.ru . In addition, the new version of the document proposes to impose restrictions against the top political and military leadership of the Russian Federation, the NSN clarifies.

The bill was prepared with the participation of Republican Senator Lindsey Graham (listed in the Russian Federation as a terrorist and extremist). The document provides for the introduction of 100% duties on the five largest buyers of Russian energy carriers, as well as 500% duties on all imports of Russian goods to the United States, Regnum news agency writes.
