Andrey Bobrovsky, a nutritionist, PhD, spoke about the differences between jam and jam and pointed out the benefits of the latter.

In an interview with Radio 1 on Wednesday, July 29, the expert noted that jam differs from jam not only in consistency, but also in composition, so these products have different effects on the body.

According to him, due to the peculiarities of the cooking technology, jam may be more useful in some cases. This applies to a product with a low sugar content that has not been subjected to prolonged heat treatment. In addition, pectin, a dietary fiber that improves digestion and promotes the elimination of toxins, is added to the production of jam. At the same time, due to the longer boiling time, jam usually has fewer vitamins than jam.

The expert stressed that it is impossible to unequivocally name one of the products more useful: it all depends on the recipe and cooking technology. At the same time, both jam and jam remain desserts, so they are recommended to be consumed in moderation.

Nutritionist Anna Belousova told on July 22 that freezing preserves vitamins and active substances in berries best of all. According to her, even a short heat treatment significantly reduces the vitamin C content. 360.ru .

Before that, on July 18, kp.ru He wrote that you can make homemade jam without sugar: for this, it is recommended to add 300 g of sour antonovka puree or thick currant juice to 1 kg of berries. Thanks to the natural pectin, the jam is well stored, and the berries retain more flavor and benefits. If you want to make the dessert sweeter, you can add a little honey.

On July 6, doctor Tatiana Zaletova told Moscow 24 that the most useful ways to harvest berries are deep freezing and drying in a dehydrator. She noted that jam cannot be considered full-fledged "berries for the winter": when cooking, vitamin C is almost completely destroyed, and some of the anthocyanins with an antioxidant effect die, writes RT.

Meanwhile, raspberries and blackberries began to appear at Moscow fairs. Farmers bring berries from the Krasnodar Territory, the Rostov Region, the Republic of Crimea, as well as the Lipetsk, Voronezh, Tambov and Ryazan regions, the Moscow City News Agency reports.

In October, gastroenterologist Evgeny Belousov spoke about the benefits of feijoa jam. According to him, it can be beneficial with moderate consumption and proper cooking recipe.
