More than 96 km of power lines were updated in the Moscow region in six months

Electrical networks are being upgraded in the Moscow Region. Over the past six months, Mosoblenergo's specialists have managed to upgrade about 96 km of power transmission lines.

Equipment has been replaced at 65 transformer substations and distribution points, the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya reports, citing the press service of the regional Ministry of Energy.

The modernization process started in early 2026. Ramenskoye district became the leader in terms of the volume of work carried out. Repairs have been carried out there for more than 12 km.

Thanks to the overhaul program, the energy infrastructure is being made more modern and sustainable. It also reduces the likelihood of technological disruptions during maximum loads, especially during the heating season.

Major repairs were carried out at 95 substations and production facilities to protect the equipment from the effects of the weather. In addition, as part of the program, about 28 hectares of protected areas have been cleared of shrubs and trees growing along overhead lines.

According to the Minister of Energy of the region Sergey Voropanov, a serious reboot of the energy infrastructure is underway. Specialists strengthen the sections of networks that are at risk. Due to the modernization of lines and repair of substations, double protection is created, from wear and from the weather.

Priority is given to large residential areas with high consumption density, so that there is a safety margin during peak frosts. It is expected that the systems will begin to withstand the load, and failures will decrease significantly.

In July, it was reported that 248 facilities had been completed in the Moscow Region under the program of capital repairs of apartment buildings. High rates of work were noted in Khimki, Balashikha, Lyubertsy and Pushkinsky. In total, major repairs are planned in 2114 houses.
