Slutsky called for the creation of a register of couriers in Russia

On July 29, LDPR leader Leonid Slutsky took the initiative to create a unified federal register of couriers and introduce mandatory identification for each employee of the delivery service.

According to him, about 1.5 million people are employed in the delivery sector, of which about 400 thousand are foreign citizens. At the same time, there is practically no effective control over people who gain daily access to residential buildings and offices of citizens. The parliamentarian stressed that illegal migrants often use other people's accounts for work, which directly threatens the security of Russians.

"The Liberal Democratic Party proposes to create a unified federal register of couriers and introduce mandatory identification of each deliverer. The register should contain data on citizenship, migration status, form of employment, medical admission, completed training, used transport and history of violations," Slutsky said in an interview with TASS.

In Krasnodar, a courier attacked an elderly concierge in one of the residential complexes, and a criminal case was opened. According to information from social media, the man used physical violence when the concierge tried to find out from him the number of the apartment he was going to. The woman needed medical help.

In April, in Nizhny Novgorod, a motorist knocked down a courier riding an electric bike, and then attacked him. The victim of the incident was a 19-year-old delivery courier. The young man went to the hospital with head injuries, doctors diagnosed him with a closed craniocerebral injury and a concussion.
