The Audi Q9 has become the largest crossover in the brand's history.

Audi has introduced the new Q9 crossover. This is the largest SUV in the brand's history, surpassing the Q7 that debuted in early summer in terms of both size, technology and equipment. In the USA, the crossover will cost from $87.7 thousand, in Germany — from € 108.4 thousand. The first deliveries are scheduled for the end of the year. Details about the model were shared by the brand's press service on June 29.

The main competitors of the Audi Q9 will be the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS. With a length of 5310 mm, the wheelbase of the novelty is 3140 mm. The crossover is 250 mm longer than the Audi Q7, and the distance between the axles is 145 mm longer. The model will be offered in the basic Advanced version and the optional S Line with more sporty trim elements.

One of the features of the crossover is the curved OLED lights, which, thanks to the ultra-thin glass, smoothly flow onto the sides of the car, which should improve visibility and increase safety. Audi claims that this technology has been used for the first time in the world. Synchronously with the dynamic turn signals, the turn indicators project signals onto the road surface. The doors are equipped with an electric drive and can be opened at an angle of up to 90°, and sensors prevent them from colliding with another car, wall or pedestrian.

By default, the Audi Q9 is offered in a seven-seat version, for an additional fee, separate seats with electric controls and optional massage and ventilation functions will be installed in the second row. The panoramic roof area, which has also become the largest in Audi's history, is 1.5 sq. m. Optionally, the roof can be equipped with a transparency adjustment function for individual sections and a backlight of 84 LEDs with 30 colors to choose from.

A 1360W Bang & Olufsen audio system with 22 speakers and vibration actuators in the seats that pulsate to the beat of the music is also available for an additional fee. If the driver loses consciousness, the crossover can pull over on its own and call emergency services. Three displays on the front panel are included as standard (the driver's and passenger's 12.3-inch each, as well as the center 14.5-inch).

In Europe, the Audi Q9 will be offered with a three-liter diesel V6 (299 hp) with mild hybrid technology, an eight-band automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system. Later, a more affordable 245-horsepower variant will appear in selected markets. In the USA, the model will receive a 2.9-liter V6 (435 hp) with acceleration to "hundreds" in 4.9 seconds. The top-end version of the SQ9 is equipped with a 4.0-liter V8 (599 hp), it accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. The rear wheels of the crossover can be rotated at an angle of up to 5° to improve maneuverability. In the "base" the model has an adaptive suspension with pneumatic elements.
