A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. Russian military personnel continue to conduct a special military operation. As a result of active actions, units of the North group of forces established control over the settlement of Novaya Sich, Sumy region. The manpower and equipment of the mechanized, airmobile brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and three air defense brigades were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Obody, Ivolzhanskoe, Sokhany, Oseyevka and Pogroedy in the Sumy region. In the Kharkiv region, formations of three mechanized brigades, an assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and two air defense brigades in the areas of Vasilevka, Bugayevka, Shirokoe, Novoaleksandrovka and Sosnovy Bor were affected. The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 200 soldiers, a tank, an armored personnel carrier, nine vehicles and a 155-mm Bogdan self-propelled gun.

The fighters of the "Southern" group of forces improved their tactical situation. Formations of four mechanized, mountain assault, and airmobile brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the air defense brigade were defeated in the areas of Cherkassk, Raysky, Kondratovka, Yasnogorka, Nikolaypol, Druzhkovka, Orekhovatka, Slavyansk, and Mirny. During the day, the enemy lost up to 200 soldiers, two infantry fighting vehicles, five armored personnel carriers, 25 vehicles and four artillery pieces.

As a result of the decisive actions of the units of the Center group of forces, the settlement of Svetloye in the Donetsk People's Republic was liberated. Two mechanized, assault, and jaeger brigades, two assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, two marine brigades and four National Guard brigades were defeated in the areas of Novoandreevka, Novonikolayevka, Kutuzovka, Novofedorovka, Novovodyany, Belozersky, Rubezhny, Dobropillya (DPR) and Novopodgorodny (Dnipropetrovsk region). The losses of the Ukrainian armed forces amounted to 340 military personnel, six vehicles and a US-made AN/TPQ-50 counter-battery warfare station.

The units of the Vostok group of forces continued to advance into the depth of the enemy's defenses. An airborne assault brigade and two assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were defeated in the areas of Pravda, Velikomikhailovka (Dnipropetrovsk region), Timoshevka, Nikolsky and Mirovka (Zaporizhia region). The enemy lost over 330 soldiers, three armored personnel carriers, 12 vehicles and two artillery pieces.

Tactical aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces and artillery of groups of troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation defeated warehouses of weapons, ammunition and fuel, production workshops and storage sites for unmanned aerial vehicles, fuel, energy and transport infrastructure facilities used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 137 districts. Six guided aerial bombs, four guided long-range Neptune missiles and 619 aircraft-type drones were shot down by air defense systems. The aircraft of the naval aviation of the Black Sea Fleet destroyed an unmanned boat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the waters of the Black Sea.

The unmanned boat has already escorted assault groups, mined the riverbed and can carry up to 100 kg of explosives.

In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, 673 aircraft, 284 helicopters, 191,899 unmanned aerial vehicles, 667 anti-aircraft missile systems, 30,351 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,766 multiple rocket launchers, 35,946 field artillery and mortars, 67,756 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
