A7 talked about the accumulated experience of using stablecoins

The law "On Digital Currencies and Digital Rights", adopted by the State Duma and approved by the Federation Council, will expand the possibilities of using stablecoins in settlements on foreign economic activity. This opinion was expressed in the company A7, which accompanies operations with A7A5, the first ruble—denominated stablecoin qualified as a CFA.

Most of the provisions of the law will enter into force on September 1, 2026. According to the Bank of Russia, exporters and importers will be able to use cryptocurrency in cross-border settlements both through intermediaries and directly. Payments in digital currency within the country will remain prohibited, except in a number of cases. The requirements for the operation of the new infrastructure are specified by the regulations of the Central Bank.

"For many companies, settlements with digital assets are still a new practice. A7 specialists have already gained significant experience in the legal registration of such transactions, compliance, currency control and interaction with infrastructure participants," said Oleg Ogienko, Director of Government Relations and International Relations for the A7A5 project.

He stressed that after the law comes into force, A7 will continue to apply this expertise in conducting client transactions. The company also plans to "adapt its business processes as the Bank of Russia's regulations and other related acts are adopted."

A7 is a Russian international settlement system created in 2024 with the participation of PSB Bank. The company provides cross-border payments for Russian businesses and supports foreign trade operations. One of the company's key tools is the A7A5 stablecoin, which was the first in Russia to receive the status of a digital financial asset. The stablecoin operates on the Tron and Ethereum networks, and its capitalization exceeds $567 million. The A7A5's appeal as a CFA in Russia is organized through the Tokeon platform.
