Keiko Fujimori took the oath of office as President of Peru. The inauguration ceremony was broadcast on TVPeru on July 28.

"I, Keiko Fujimori, swear that I will faithfully fulfill the duties of the president entrusted to me for the period 2026-2031," she said.

The leaders of Argentina, Bolivia and Chile, Javier Miley, Rodrigo Paz and Jose Antonio Cast, arrived in Peru for Fujimori's inauguration ceremony.

The new leader said that the authorities will focus on two key areas — combating the effects of the El Nino climate phenomenon and ensuring the safety of citizens. The plans also include infrastructure development, simplification of bureaucracy, support for youth initiatives and additional payments to the elderly.

On June 30, the National Directorate of Electoral Processes of Peru announced that Fujimori, a candidate from the right-wing Popular Force party, had won the presidential election. Her main opponent, Roberto Sanchez, representing the political organization "Together for Peru", scored 49.865%.
