Medvedev called rumors of mobilization in Russia lies of the enemy

Rumors about possible mobilization in Russia are being spread by the enemy to destabilize the situation before the elections. This was announced on July 28 by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council.

"The enemy's attempts to spread any kind of blizzard that mobilization is being prepared in the country are nothing more than a false provocation. This is part of the propaganda in the run—up to the elections," Medvedev said during a meeting of the interdepartmental commission on recruiting the Armed Forces with contractors, the deputy chairman of the Security Council posted the video on the Maks messenger.

According to him, propaganda is aimed at creating negative sentiments in society and destabilizing the situation in the Russian Federation. Medvedev drew attention to publications on social networks, including campaigning, which is accompanied by the phrase "Don't wait for mobilization, go serve for money." According to him, this is "a paid story or a story planted by the enemy."

The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council called on presidential plenipotentiaries in the federal districts, heads of regions and representatives of the Ministry of Defense to pay attention to such cases, pointing out that the example given is just one of many such situations. He also drew attention to the need to carry out explanatory work so that citizens understand the true situation.

"I would like to emphasize once again that there is no need for mobilization. This is a lie from an enemy who himself is experiencing a shortage of human resources," Medvedev concluded.

As participants of the Victory Day Parade on May 9, the great-grandchildren of the 1945 victors are defending Russia on the same frontiers where their ancestors once fought.

Andrei Kartapolov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defense, said on July 27 that rumors spread by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky about the mobilization that would allegedly be announced in Russia in the fall of 2026 were fiction. He added that he personally does not think anything about these allegations, since the country does not need such measures.
