Chinese cars began to visit car service stations 51% more often
According to the results of the first half of 2026, the number of visits by Chinese cars to car services increased by 51% year-on-year. This is stated in a study of the international network of Fit Service car services (Izvestia has it). Last year, during this period, the number of car arrivals at the network's car services amounted to 25.3 thousand, this year it was 38.2 thousand. The average check for Chinese cars in the first half of the year amounted to 9,787 rubles (+5%).
According to experts, Chinese cars for the first time entered the top 5 countries of origin of the brand among the visits to the service station. Japan is in the first place (34.6%), followed by South Korea (16.97%), Germany (12.31%), Russia (9.06%) and China (8.07%), which is ahead of the United States (7.55%).
If we look at the structure of the fleet of Chinese cars that come for service, then the largest group remains fresh cars under the age of 3 (57% of visits). In second place are cars aged 4-5 years (18%) and 6-9 years (11.2%). The age structure has changed — last year, cars aged 10-14 were in second place in terms of the frequency of arrivals (18%), and this year their share has decreased to 10%.
Among Chinese brands, Chery (23.1% share), Haval (18.5%), Geely (16.8%), Changan (7%) and Lifan (5.1%) are the leaders in the number of visits to service stations in the first half of the year. The top ten also includes Exeed, Great Wall, Omoda, JAC and Jetour. The top models that appear most often in the services include Haval Jolion, Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max, Haval F7 and three Geely models — Coolray, Atlas and Monjaro.
"We see that there are noticeably more Chinese cars in the country's independent car service stations. This is no longer a niche category, but a full-fledged part of the customer flow. The increase in the share from 6 to 8% in the number of visits indicates that the fleet of Chinese cars in Russia is becoming truly massive, and their owners are increasingly using the services of an independent service not only for repairs, but also for regular maintenance," said Dmitry Samoilov, Director of partner support at Fit Service.
As the specialist explained, the small increase in the average receipt is due to the fact that Chinese car owners are more likely to come for routine maintenance and diagnostics, rather than for expensive repairs. The expert advised car service stations to prepare in advance for the further growth of the Chinese car segment: to train craftsmen, expand the range of consumables and work with technical information on these cars as deeply as on Japanese, Korean or European brands.
As reported on July 27, according to the results of the first half of 2026, 165 thousand Chinese brand cars were sold on the secondary market, which is 44% more than last year's result. According to forecasts, by the end of the year the market volume of such used cars will exceed 400 thousand units. The most popular brand from China in the Russian secondary car market is Chery, which holds a 20.2% share.
