A man who confessed to the brutal murder of 12-year-old Milana in the Tosnensky district of the Leningrad region is suspected of abusing his niece. This was announced on July 28 by a source of Izvestia.

According to his information, several more criminal cases have been opened against the man — we are talking about violent acts of a sexual nature. The defendant was suspected of corrupting his niece, which could have occurred since 2021 — at that time the girl was nine years old.

Milana went to the forest for chanterelles on July 2 and did not return home. They searched for the schoolgirl all night, and the next morning her body was found near the Zahozhye SNT. The suspect was detained in Gatchina — he turned out to be a local resident born in 1984, who was a member of the board of the cooperative.

The man was detained on the same day. The investigator has prepared a petition to the court for the election of a preventive measure in the form of detention in relation to the detainee. The suspect later confessed to the crime.

The girl's body was found on July 3. As a result of the incident, a criminal case was opened under Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder"). The press service of the St. Petersburg search team "LizaAlert" said that the girl informed her family by phone that she was returning home, but did not come home.

The girl's mother, Tatiana Naumova, told Izvestia that before the disappearance, her daughter was heading towards the house. The girl went for a walk on July 2 and contacted her parents for the last time around 17:00.
