Dealers and distributors have started to massively reduce discounts on NEV cars (powered by new energy sources) in Russia amid increasing demand. This was reported by Kommersant on July 28.

According to Nikolai Ivanov, Rolf's new car sales director, the maximum discount on localized hybrids and electric vehicles under the preferential leasing program has already been reduced from 925 thousand to 500 thousand rubles.

Olga Petrova, Deputy General Director for New Car Sales at Avilon, clarified that while many brands actively stimulated demand in the spring, now the need for additional discounts on popular hybrids and electric vehicles is disappearing. The surge in interest in electrified cars began after the events in the fuel market, she said.

According to Daniil Shkurygin, commercial director of <url>, increased demand has led to a shortage in a number of hybrid and electric vehicle models, and the shortage of Evolve cars is especially noticeable: dealers have almost no new cars left, and the queue for them is two to three months. First of all, this concerns the hybrid of the Evolve i-Space and the i-Joy electric car, for which a "large bank of contracts" has already been formed, he noted. The appearance of the delivery queue was confirmed by representatives of Evolute.

Experts interviewed by the publication predict that in the second half of the year, high interest in NEV cars will continue.

As Autostat reported earlier in the day, 155 new Avatr electric vehicles were registered in Russia last week, which was another weekly record for this Chinese brand in the Russian market.
