The VI Congress of Young Scientists will be held on December 2-4 in St. Petersburg.

By the decision of the Organizing Committee of the VI Congress of Young Scientists, the dates and venue of the event have been changed. The Congress will bring together leading scientists, representatives of scientific and educational organizations, engineers, technology entrepreneurs, government officials and representatives of the business community.

"As our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin said, the purpose of the Congress of Young Scientists of the national project "Youth and Children" is to create a platform for free communication and exchange of opinions, ideas, establishing new contacts between people who want to engage in science. For the first time, leading Russian and foreign scientists will meet in St. Petersburg, where the first Academy of Sciences in Russia was opened and traditions were born. I am confident that the Congress participants will propose bold initiatives to meet the demands of the state and business, and the energy of young talents will grow into a real and powerful engine of the country's scientific and technological sovereignty," said Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, co-chairman of the Coordinating Committee for the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia.

"The Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Center in St. Petersburg has been designated as the venue for the Congress of Young Scientists in 2026. The Congress will be held on December 2-4. The platform will become a place of dialogue between science, government and business on issues of scientific development, development and adjustment of measures of state support for scientific activities. Annual meetings within the framework of the Congress provide fine-tuning of three-way interaction, allow real-time response to new challenges, support advanced industries, and introduce new technologies into production chains. This gives us confidence that Russian science remains strong and modern, forming the basis of Russia's strategic leadership in the world," said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and head of the interdepartmental working group on the preparation and holding of the Congress of Young Scientists and satellite events.

The Congress of Young Scientists is a key annual event of the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia, announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2022. The Congress acts as the largest platform for dialogue between advanced and fundamental science, government and the real sector of the economy and sets the main vectors of scientific and technological development. One of its key tasks remains to involve talented youth and young researchers and entrepreneurs in the scientific and technological sphere.

In 2025, the Congress demonstrated record international participation, bringing together more than 8000 participants from 89 regions of the Russian Federation and 100 foreign countries. In addition to the traditional format of discussions on scientific development, the Congress agenda includes lectures, master classes, scientific battles, film screenings and intellectual games. The exhibition of advanced scientific achievements at the Congress site provided an opportunity for leading scientific organizations, technology companies and entrepreneurs to show scientific developments that meet modern challenges.
