Russia banned the import of more than 43 tons of pork fat from Belarus

Rosselkhoznadzor has restricted the import of two shipments of pork fat with a total volume of 43.6 tons from Belarus. The relevant information was published on the official website of the ministry on July 28.

It is specified that the products were planned to be delivered from Belarus to Kazakhstan through the territory of Russia. According to the service, the Belarusian company Veles-Mit tried to carry out transportation using a fake veterinary certificate.

An inspection in the Belarusian veterinary system showed that the raw materials could have come from Denmark. In connection with the violations identified, the Rosselkhoznadzor appealed to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus with a request to suspend veterinary certification of the company's products to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union for the duration of the inspection.

In addition, the regulator has restricted the import and transit of all Veles-Mit meat products due to repeated violations of Russian norms and technical regulations of the EAEU. Laboratory tests revealed remnants of medicines, including antibiotics, in a number of the company's products.

In addition, discrepancies in microbiological indicators were recorded: listeria and E. coli group bacteria were found in the samples.

On July 24, the Rosselkhoznadzor imposed restrictions on the import of dairy products from Armenia. They explained that the decision was made following the inspection of Armenian dairy processing enterprises. The inspection revealed violations in the product traceability system, registration of veterinary documents, veterinary and sanitary examination of raw materials and production control.
