The Ukrainian Armed Forces began preparing Chernihiv for a long-term defense

The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) plans to prepare Chernihiv for long-term defensive actions, intending to make another "fortress" out of the city. This was announced on Tuesday, July 28, by representatives of law enforcement agencies.

"Local residents of the Chernihiv region pay attention to the fact that only the regional center is being prepared for defense, which the nationalists intend to turn into another "fortress," RIA Novosti reports.

On July 23, Russian law enforcement agencies reported that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continues to increase the number of units near Chernihiv. We are talking about assault groups that previously took part in the fighting in the Kursk area and suffered losses there.

Since the end of May, the number of attacks by Ukrainian UAVs on residential buildings, schools, and energy facilities has increased 1.5 times.

On the eve, representatives of law enforcement agencies said that in the units of the 143rd separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which are stationed in the Chernihiv region, cases of disappearance of mobilized militants were recorded. At the same time, a significant part of the missing are people of pre-retirement age.
