In the final voting, Lopez Cabral's shot beat the goals of Eldor Shomurodov from Uzbekistan and Wilson Isidore from Haiti, who took second and third places. Kylian Mbappe (France), Lionel Messi (Argentina), Jude Bellingham (England) and Ferran Torres (Spain) also claimed the award.
The national team of Argentina defeated the Cape Verdean team in the 1/16 finals on July 3. The match took place in Miami and ended with a score of 3:2 in extra time. Among the Argentines, Lionel Messi scored goals in the 29th minute and Lisandro Martinez in the 92nd minute.
