Trump noted the friendly atmosphere at the talks between the United States and Iran
The talks between Washington and Tehran are taking place in a friendly atmosphere. This was announced on July 27 by the American leader Donald Trump.
"Very friendly negotiations are underway now," the American leader said during a speech in the US state of Michigan at a campaign event ahead of the November midterm congressional elections.
According to him, Iran itself approached the United States with a proposal to conclude a deal after the US military was defeated. Trump noted that the United States had destroyed Iran's navy and air force, air defense systems, and the country's leadership.
The American leader claims that the production of drones in Iran has decreased to about 7% of the previous level, and most of the missile and drone production facilities have been destroyed.
Trump also criticized the policies of his predecessor Barack Obama, who, according to him, tried to bribe Iran by sending $1.7 billion in cash. As a result of the naval blockade, Trump noted, Iran is asking for restrictions to be lifted.
"We have set up a blockade. <...> They are literally begging: "Please, please, stop the blockade," the head of the White House said.
On July 27, Trump told reporters on board a plane en route to Michigan that Iran had requested a meeting with the American side. It was the military actions of the United States that caused Iran to change its position, the American leader believes. According to him, negotiations with Tehran are already underway.
The day before, the head of the White House admitted the possibility of resuming large-scale hostilities against Tehran if Washington does not achieve full satisfaction of its demands. At the same time, the American leader did not disclose the essence of the requirements themselves.
