Apple has regained its status as the most expensive company in the world, displacing Nvidia from the first place. Following the results of trading on Monday, Apple's market capitalization reached about $5 trillion, while Nvidia's capitalization dropped to $4.77 trillion. This was announced on July 27 by the Business Insider (BI) portal.

"The latest chip sale was triggered earlier this month by a new artificial intelligence model from a Chinese startup, which investors fear as a new 'DeepSeek moment,'" the publication says.

In addition, reports of Nvidia's possible financing of $250 billion worth of OpenAI data centers have revived concerns about circular transactions and high capital costs. It is noted that Apple shares rose by 2%, while Nvidia securities lost 5%, extending the period of volatility for chip manufacturers.

It is noted that Apple has been significantly ahead of Nvidia since the beginning of June. The iPhone maker's shares have grown by almost 24% this year, while Nvidia has gained only 6%. It is clarified that an important factor was the global collapse of the hardware market for artificial intelligence, which affected manufacturers of chips and memory.

From the data of the TradingView profile platform on July 17, it became known that Apple has become the largest company in the world by capitalization, overtaking Nvidia, the manufacturer of graphics processors, in terms of market value.

On April 10, Reuters reported that the American IT company Apple became the world leader in smartphone shipments in the first quarter of 2026. According to Counterpoint, Apple led the smartphone market for the first time in the first quarter with a 21% share.
