300 white balloons were launched in Donetsk in memory of the dead children of Donbass

300 white balloons were launched into the sky of Donetsk as part of an action dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of Children victims of the War in Donbass. On July 27, Izvestia published footage from the venue of the action.

The event was organized within the framework of the national project "Youth and Children" and is called "Angels of Donbass". During the event, the participants, who are residents of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), not only launch balloons, but also light candles, take part in a minute of silence and perform themed performances.

"Every year on the day of remembrance of the dead children of Donbass, we honor the memory of all those who died, all the innocently murdered children. <...> We want these balloons to become a symbol, they show, yes, that we remember, that we launch souls into the sky, the souls of our children and we we always remember them," Denis Shimanovsky, the Minister of Youth Policy of the DPR, told reporters.

The dead, as he explained, "did not deserve such an outcome." They could have done a lot of useful things for the republic and Russia, as well as for the whole world, if their lives had not been cut short as a result of terrorist attacks. Against this background, Szymanowski recalled the children who died while playing soccer in Oktyabrsky, a girl named Katya, who was killed on her way from ballet school, and the children who died as a result of the shelling of the beach in Zugres.

Daria Tievskaya, Deputy Director of the Center for the Development of Youth Initiatives of the Donetsk People's Republic, added that the "Angels of Donbass" campaign has already become a tradition. To participate in it, people gather together every year, regardless of any circumstances. According to her, the participants remember the children not only from a tragic, but also from a bright point of view.

"On this date, we need to remember everything and put it aside in our memory so that we make every effort to ensure that this situation never happens again," said Andrey, a participant in the special military operation (SVO) who came to the event.

Rossotrudnichestvo said on the same day that commemorative actions were also held in Russian homes around the world in memory of the dead children of Donbass. The purpose of such events was to prevent the crimes of the Kiev regime from being hushed up. They were held in Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, South Ossetia, Argentina, Palestine, India, Italy, Abkhazia, Indonesia, as well as Cyprus and other countries.

The story of the most tragic date began on July 27, 2014. Then, as a result of the shelling of Gorlovka by Ukrainian neo-Nazis, 22 people were killed, including children.
