The expert warned about the danger of stopping vomiting during poisoning
An expert on socio-economic policy, Yakov Yakubovich, on Monday, July 27, told why it is pointless to suppress yawning, and it is dangerous to stop vomiting in case of poisoning.
In conversation with the agency RuNews24.Ru He noted that body reactions such as yawning, vomiting and runny nose are natural defense mechanisms that should not be suppressed unnecessarily.
According to him, yawning helps cool the brain and improve performance, so it's pointless to fight it. To cheer up, the specialist advised to go out into the fresh air or wash with cold water.
Vomiting helps the body to get rid of toxins, so it should not be stopped in case of poisoning. Antiemetic drugs are used only for uncontrollable vomiting under the supervision of a doctor.
A runny nose also performs a protective function: the mucous membrane moisturizes and cleanses the inhaled air from dust, viruses and allergens. To relieve symptoms, Yakubovich recommended using vasoconstrictor drops for no longer than 5-7 days or antihistamines for allergies, emphasizing that suppressing a runny nose without eliminating its cause is ineffective, writes RIAMO.
Gastroenterologist Natalia Savelyeva said on July 16 that after food poisoning, many people develop a persistent aversion to certain foods, even if they were not the cause of ill health. According to the expert, the brain begins to perceive the product as potentially dangerous, even if there is no certainty that it caused the malaise.
