The neurologist recommended doing isometric gymnastics in the office
Neurologist Pavel Khoroshev said on Monday, July 27, that isometric gymnastics allows you to burn calories and train your heart right at your desk.
In an interview with Radio 1, he noted that it is important for people who spend a lot of time on the computer to move regularly. The specialist advised doing simple exercises every 40 minutes: clasping your hands and trying to spread them apart, forcefully squeezing your palms in front of your chest, pulling one arm up and the other down, and also resting your hands on the chair seat and lifting your body to unload your spine.
According to Khoroshev, this workout strengthens muscles and helps burn calories without increasing muscle mass.
In addition, the doctor recommended following a Mediterranean or Scandinavian type of diet and drinking at least 2 liters of water per day.
Physical therapy instructor Andrey Solovyov told on July 24 Pravda.Ru that while working at a computer, the head shifts forward, which overstresses the neck muscles and worsens blood flow. To reduce the load, it is worthwhile to snuggle tightly against the back of a chair and regularly perform slow bends and turns of the head without sudden movements.
In May, ophthalmologist Ivan Zarubin told how to deal with dry eyes after working at a computer. He recommended following the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes for 20 seconds, look at an object located about 6 m away. In addition, the specialist advised using moisturizing drops or artificial tears to prevent dry eyes, if necessary. 360.ru .

Coach Irina Maltseva told Izvestia that short physical activities during the working day can be more effective than an evening walk to reduce the harm from prolonged sitting. At the same time, squats are not a substitute for walking, as walking is important for endurance, cardiovascular function, and overall well-being.
Doctor Evgeny Achkasov noted that it is necessary to return the practice of industrial gymnastics to the offices. The expert stressed that physical education classes do not replace full-fledged gymnastics classes in the gym or on the street, but act only as an addition to basic physical activity, writes RT.
