In Irkutsk region, 10 people died in an accident in a week

Over the past week, 10 people, including a child, were killed in traffic accidents on the roads of the Irkutsk region. This is reported by the regional State Traffic Inspectorate.

A total of 47 road accidents were recorded in the region from July 20 to July 26. As a result, 10 people died, including a preschool-age child. Another 61 people, including 11 minors, were injured.

Thus, 11 pedestrian collisions and 17 vehicle collisions were registered. Three accidents involving drunk motorists were recorded, in 15 cases drivers were driving vehicles without the appropriate license.

According to IA IrkutskMedia, the main causes of accidents were speeding, driving into oncoming traffic, incorrect choice of distance, failure to follow the order of travel and ignoring the rules of passage of pedestrian crossings.

On the evening of July 22, a Toyota Vista passenger car and a Mitsubishi truck collided on the 171st km of the Baikal federal highway R-258 in the Slyudyansky district. The woman driving the car and her three-year-old child were killed.
