According to the results of the 30th week of this year (July 20-26), 25.4 thousand new passenger cars were sold in Russia. This is 1% more than a week earlier, and almost 6% less compared to the same week last year. Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, told about this in his Telegram channel on July 27.

As the analyst pointed out, sales of passenger cars have stabilized at about 25 thousand per week and, in his opinion, the market will continue to show such indicators. However, the negative dynamics in relation to last year will increase, he believes.

Sales of light commercial vehicles (LCVs) over the past week amounted to 1,123 units, which is 10% less than a week earlier and 26.4% less than last year's result. In general, the LCV segment is showing weak results this year, and the downward trend is not changing, the expert noted.

As for trucks, 905 units of such equipment were sold during the week. This is 4.1% less than a week earlier, but 7.2% higher than last year's figure. Tselikov noted that the cargo market has been declining for the third year now, and despite the low base of last year, the accumulated market result continues to be negative (-13%). Autostat's forecast for HCV and MCV truck sales for the first half of the year has been revised down, the agency's director added.

Earlier, on July 24, it was reported that among Russians who plan to buy a car in 2026, almost one in three is considering moving a car from abroad (31%). 38% are going to buy a used car on the Russian market. 19% replied that they were considering buying a new car from an authorized dealer, while 12% were interested in new cars imported under alternative import schemes.
