The Commander-in-chief of the Navy announced the creation of the first large unmanned ship

Russia is developing a crewless ship designed to search for submarines and other underwater objects. This was announced on July 26 by Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Alexander Moiseev.

"We are creating a ship that solves individual tasks, such as searching for submarines and underwater objects. This is already a 500-ton ship, this is quite serious," he said in an interview with the Zvezda TV channel.

According to its characteristics, the development belongs to the class of small ships and is not considered a boat. The Commander-in-chief of the Navy also said that the project has already been included in the current State Armament Program and is under construction. According to him, it will be the first crewless ship of this class in Russia.

Moiseev added that the new ship will become the basis for the further development of domestic unmanned marine systems.
