Patrushev called the preservation of the nuclear submarine fleet the most important task.

The preservation and modernization of the Russian nuclear submarine fleet is an important task. This was announced on July 26 by Nikolai Patrushev, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Maritime Board, in a congratulatory message to the sailors on Navy Day.

"The most important task is to preserve and modernize the nuclear submarine fleet as the basis of naval strategic forces. These measures are enshrined in the Strategy for the Development of the Navy, approved by the President of Russia," Patrushev stressed, quoted by TASS.

He also recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin has set ambitious goals for further improving the Navy, strengthening scientific, technological and human resources. Patrushev noted that the fleet has gone through severe trials over the years and proved to the whole world that Russia is a great maritime power.

He named the maintenance of the fleet's combat capabilities, the development and production of state-of-the-art weapons, as well as the improvement of combat training of units as priorities of state policy in naval activities. Patrushev congratulated the sailors on the holiday and wished them success in their service for the benefit of Russia.

The new drones will help the units to defeat unmanned boats, sabotage groups and other threats on the approaches to the bases.

On July 26, Putin addressed Russian servicemen on the occasion of Russian Navy Day, noting that on this holiday the country honors its valiant Navy and all those who, in different years and eras, created its glory, as well as provided Russia with the status of a great maritime power with brilliant scientific achievements.
