Tokayev proposed to launch the Kazakhstan—Russia digital transport corridor

At the forum of interregional cooperation in Omsk on July 25, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev proposed launching the Kazakhstan—Russia digital transport corridor on the busiest route between the countries.

"Based on existing digital platforms, it is proposed to launch the Kazakhstan—Russia digital transport corridor in one of the busiest directions in a pilot format," Tokayev said.

Tokayev expressed confidence that the effective digital integration of the transport and logistics systems of the two countries and the widespread use of new technologies will increase the volume of mutual trade, increase transit flows and comprehensively strengthen economic ties.

He also recalled that in May, as part of the Russian President's state visit to Kazakhstan, the first run of unmanned cargo vehicles between the two countries took place.

Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced during the forum that trade turnover had increased by over 4% in the first five months of this year. He noted that relations between the two countries are developing successfully, and not in words, but in deeds, they are of a strategic nature. According to the Russian leader, such good dynamics suggests that Russia and Kazakhstan have good prospects, which are determined, among other things, by investments.
