Putin said during the meeting that the volume of cargo transportation between Russia and Kazakhstan continues to increase.

On cooperation in the field of water transport and environmental projects

Putin spoke about the development of shipping links in the Caspian Sea and along the rivers connecting Russia and Kazakhstan. He paid special attention to the Irtysh River, a common waterway between the two countries.

"Active shipping links are maintained in the Caspian Sea and along the rivers flowing between Russia and Kazakhstan, including the Irtysh, a common waterway that has not only important economic but also natural significance for both countries," the president said.

He also said that a master plan for river sharing is currently being developed, which should take into account the interests of the economy and the preservation of the ecosystem.

The President stressed that the countries are implementing joint programs to restore the biosphere and prevent pollution of the Irtysh basin.

On the development of air communication between the countries

Putin noted that the number of direct flights between Russia and Kazakhstan is increasing, and the geography of flights is expanding. According to him, the next destination will be the opening of flights to Almaty from Orenburg.

"Regular direct flights between the two countries have also been established. The frequency of flights is increasing, and their geography covers more and more destinations," he said, adding that in June the construction of a new international terminal in Orenburg was completed, which will expand the possibilities of air traffic.

Putin also drew attention to investments. According to him, Russian enterprises and businesses are currently involved in 70 projects totaling about $30 billion.
