Forest protection strips to be updated in Transbaikalia

Mineralized strips created to contain the spread of forest fires will be put in order in the Trans-Baikal Territory. The work is carried out on the sites of the Zabaikalleskhoz.

The events began within the framework of the national project "Environmental well-being". The workers use specialized machinery, including tractors with plows. This is necessary for clearing and updating fire lanes.

ChitaMedia news agency clarifies that to create mineralized strips, the top layer of soil is removed to the mineral soil. Artificial barriers should prevent the spread of fire during forest fires. They help to contain fires and preserve forests.

Earlier, on July 20, it was reported that no forest fires had been recorded in the Khabarovsk Territory. Monitoring of the situation continues: 458 forest inspectors are monitoring it. Specialists inspect recreation areas, conduct raids on forests and monitor compliance with security requirements. So, 420 departures were carried out over the past week, including those using drones.
