- The expert warned about a new problem in the labor market due to the development of AI
Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly taking on simple tasks that used to be the first stage in the professional development of novice specialists. On the one hand, it helps experienced employees to focus on more complex work, on the other hand, it creates a new task for the business: where future experts will gain the necessary practical experience. Aykanysh Orozbayeva, Director of Business Development at Embedika, told Izvestia about this on July 25.
According to the expert, today companies are mainly implementing AI to automate repetitive operations.
"AI does not replace a specialist entirely — it is not professions that are automated, but individual operations within them. This changes not only the current work of employees, but also the very logic of professional development. As a result, experienced specialists can devote more time to tasks that require expertise, experience, professional judgment and responsibility for the result," said Orozbayeva.
At the same time, the main changes affect not so much the work of experienced employees as the beginning of the career path of newcomers. Previously, young professionals gained their first skills through performing basic tasks: lawyers checked standard documents, analysts prepared primary reports, engineers studied technical documentation and collected the necessary data.
Such work allowed novice employees to better understand the processes within the company, accumulate professional experience and gradually move on to more complex responsibilities. However, it is these tasks that today most often become the object of automation using neural networks.
At the same time, the development of artificial intelligence does not mean that specialists are becoming less in demand. On the contrary, as the amount of routine work decreases, the importance of analysis, decision-making, and responsibility for the final result increases.
"A logical question arises: how will the next generation of experts be formed? So far, neither the business nor the educational system has a ready and unambiguous answer to it," Orozbayeva stressed.
According to the expert, the main challenge associated with the spread of AI is not only the possible reduction of jobs. An equally important task is to adapt the labor market, educational programs and corporate training to new conditions. If neural networks continue to perform initial tasks, companies will have to look for new ways to train young people. Businesses will need to create opportunities to gain practical experience and develop professional skills that cannot be replaced by automation.
According to Orozbayeva, in the future 5-7 years, a situation may arise when artificial intelligence will help to close the current shortage of specialists, but at the same time complicate the training of new experts. Therefore, it is important for companies not only to introduce technologies, but also to develop employee training systems. The ability to grow a new generation of specialists, rather than just optimizing processes using AI, may become one of the key business advantages in the future.
On July 1, media expert, founder of the Workshop of New Media and deputy director of ANO Dialog Regions Yulia Ablets told Izvestia that AI continues to change the labor market, and the transformation affects not only traditional professions, but also new specialties that have emerged due to the development of neural networks. According to the expert, one of the youngest professions, industrial engineering, is already undergoing a major transformation. If a year ago it was enough for a specialist to understand the features of different neural networks and be able to make effective queries, now employers expect him to understand the economics of using AI.
