President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with former Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov. This was announced on July 21 on the website of the Ukrainian edition of News Live.

"Zelensky held a meeting with former Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov," the publication says.

In addition, Dmitry Litvin, adviser to the head of the Kiev regime, in the social network X (ex. Twitter) reported that Zelensky was holding a "crucial meeting." According to him, after its completion, the president had to have more negotiations, following which a decision should be made. It is not specified what issues were discussed at the meeting with the former minister and whether this is related to personnel decisions.

On July 15, Fedorov announced his resignation from the post of Minister of Defense of Ukraine. Former head of the Security Service of Ukraine Yevhen Khmaru was appointed acting head of the military department. Against the background of personnel changes in Ukraine, a scandal broke out. Large-scale rallies were held in Lviv and Kiev. Following this, Pavel Yelizarov, Deputy Commander of the AFU Air Force, announced his retirement.

Fedorov himself explained that Alexander Syrsky, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).He was not ready to openly discuss the existing problems in the army and instead "plotted intrigues." The Economist magazine noted on July 20 that Zelensky's decision to dismiss Fedorov provoked a crisis in the country's government. The president has been trying to cope with the consequences of his own decision for five days, and the office of the Ukrainian leader reports "strong excitement."
