A high-alert mode was introduced in the Tyumen region due to flooding

A high-alert regime has been introduced in the Nizhnetavdinsky district of the Tyumen Region due to the threat of large-scale flooding. This was announced on July 21 at the regional government information center.

According to Andrey Gorin, director of the Department of Civil Protection and Fire Safety of the Tyumen Region, the decision was made after the water level in the Tavda River in the district reached the "unfavorable phenomenon" mark. A set of preventive measures is currently being implemented.

"Preventive measures are being taken to prevent the effects of flooding — yard rounds, checking temporary accommodation facilities and stocks of material resources," he is quoted as saying in the department's Telegram channel.

Gorin added that similar measures are being taken in all municipalities of the region, where there are risks of flooding. At the same time, he stressed that the rapid response to the threat is currently focused on the local level.

"The situation is under control. There is no need to take measures on a regional scale yet, but all forces and means are in a high degree of readiness," the director of the department assured.

The government of the Tyumen Region reported on July 16 that the flood situation in the Tyumen region remains favorable, despite the fact that prolonged precipitation and thunderstorms have engulfed the region. It is specified that, according to forecasts of meteorologists, the current water level in the Pyshma, Tavda and Ture rivers exceeds the usual values according to long-term observations as of the current date, however, such a rise is not dangerous.
